Our client is one of the UK’s largest construction firms and they are currently looking to recruit an bid-writer based in their offices Maple Cross, Rickmansworth. Please see below the full job description:

Job Purpose
Reporting into the submissions function in Pre construction, the Researcher/Writer role is an integral part of strategy development and the work winning team. Responsible for the research, collation and analysis of market intelligence to inform bid/proposals response planning, submissions writing and editing, securing future business opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
Structure market research, interview experts and collate intelligence from a wide range of sources
Ensure market intelligence is relevant, maintained, accurate, clear and easily accessible
Assist with the development of bid/proposal win themes and documentation
Work closely with senior writers and subject matter experts to develop high quality bid/proposal responses. Understand question structure and scoring guidelines using answer planning and other supporting tools
Demonstrate an ability to create work winning narrative from scratch or edit material, as appropriate
Challenge and refine bid/proposal responses into customer-focused narrative that is clear, well-structured and focused on benefits, achieving maximum quality scores.
Deliver a total quality approach.

Working Environment
A full-time, office-based role at our client’s head office in Maple Cross, potentially with occasional travel to other offices and sites in the UK. The Research/Writer will initially work closely with the operation unit’s Strategy Delivery Manager and focus on bid preparation gathering market intelligence for upcoming major bids and subsequently be integrated into the bid/proposals teams to provide direct writing support.

Candidate
Individual Contributor – Day to day focus on resolution of complex problems where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes. Roles at this level would usually have full ownership for one or more processes, or products and may also be considered analytical or procedural “experts” representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables. Responsible for either work flow supervision for small team and/or for providing advanced technical or clerical services.

Qualifications
Minimum GCSE English Language Grade C or equivalent
Degree-level education (desirable)
