Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Are you a detail-oriented and results-driven Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting opportunity in commercial management? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Planned Works Quantity Surveyor. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial aspects of assigned contracts, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be conducting pre and post inspections for assigned work elements.
On top of allocating and managing work to subcontractors and members of staff, ensuring completion is in line with client specifications.
You will be in constant communication between subcontractors, members of staff and the client.
You will be managing commercial reports for your assigned contract, providing monthly reports to SMT and the Board.
Your knowledge in fiscal properties will be needed to accurately charge all job costs, including timesheets, purchase invoices, and subcontractor costs.
Actively manage margin within business targets and expectations.
The Person
Proficiency in SOR, Open Book, and Cost Plus pricing models is essential.
Strong understanding of commercial strategy and its impact on profit and cash management.
Knowledge and experience in handling claims and dispute resolution.
Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports.
Effective time management and prioritization skills.
Familiarity with sub-contract orders, buying, and estimating processes.
Understanding of management accounts and forecasting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
