Clerk of Works

Options Resourcing are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clerk of Works to play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, workmanship, and safety of contractors delivering infrastructure projects for an exciting new development, located in Bristol.

Responsibilities:
– Inspect and record the workmanship, quality, and safety of contractors delivering infrastructure projects, including roads, sewers, services, and landscaping.
– Ensure that works are accurate with design information and meet the required adoptable standards.
– Record observations, including labour, plant, and materials, and check measurements and sample materials to ensure compliance with standards.
– Develop and maintain health and safety standards, ensuring policies, procedures, and best practices are followed.
– Provide advice to contractors regarding work deviations from required standards.
– Attend pre-commencement meetings and post-delivery inspections/reviews of work.
– Contribute to risk management strategy and maintain the risk register.
Requirements:
– Minimum of five years’ experience in delivering infrastructure projects.
– NVQ Site Inspection Level 4, relevant BTEC higher national award, or similar qualification.
– Knowledge and competence in DNO/IDNO services requirements and associated NJUG standards.
– Extensive knowledge and experience in delivering adoptable highways, drainage, services, and Public Open Space infrastructure.
– Technically competent with good judgment and negotiation skills.
– CSCS card or similar certification.
– Willingness to keep up to date with changes in construction methods and statutory legislation through continued professional development (CPD).
