About the Role
A well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Leicester is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial and sales team. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, this role is ideal for a proactive individual with strong technical understanding and excellent customer communication skills.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both clients and internal teams preparing accurate quotations, following up on projects, and ensuring smooth order processing from enquiry through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare customer quotations and estimates in line with client requirements.
Provide technical support to customers and internal team members.
Make regular follow-up calls to clients and manage project progress.
Handle after-sales activities and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Liaise effectively with internal departments and external partners.
Support sales and marketing initiatives to promote company products and services.
Process customer orders including:
Checking profitability and costing accuracy.
Raising order acknowledgements and purchase orders.
Progressing orders to meet agreed deadlines.
Issuing invoices and arranging timely deliveries.

Responsibilities and Objectives

Produce and maintain KPIs to monitor sales and estimating performance.
Take an active role in developing business opportunities to increase turnover and profitability.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in estimating, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and profitability.
A proactive and customer-focused approach.
