Our client in the Birmingham area is looking for a new Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for their fun and vibrant team due to continued business growth!

Role & Responsibilities

Perform reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site.
Support day-to-day manufacturing processes efficiently while working within a team structure.
Record and monitor all engineering/production-related issues effectively.
Troubleshoot problems and propose improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
Communicate progress and updates with Production Managers and Team Leaders.
Complete scheduled maintenance tasks as per the maintenance plan.
Investigate plant and equipment faults, carry out necessary repairs, and document progress within the maintenance recording system.

Requirements

Time-served Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in manufacturing.
Minimum qualifications: City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering.
Strong fitting skills, with proficiency in welding and fabrication, and expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding.
Experience in planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing practices.
Well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of working to tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
