Key Responsibilities:
– Raising purchase orders for materials and component parts.
– Identifying and evaluating new vendors.
– Expediting supplier deliveries and negotiating to improve lead times
– Proactively resolving supply issues to enhance On-time-in-full performance.
– Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers to optimize costs and deliver savings.
– Maintaining accurate purchasing data within the system for full traceability.
– Completing supplier reviews, monitoring and reporting on delivery and quality performance.
– Developing an understanding of the company’s operations and technical information in collaboration with the Design department.
– Undertaking any other duties reasonably required by management.
Essential Criteria:
– Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Purchasing or Buyer role within the Cladding/Roofing sector.
– Proficient in summarizing and effectively communicating complex information.
– High competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent numerical skills and problem-solving abilities.
– Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
– Aptitude for creative and innovative thinking. – Strong negotiating skills.
– High integrity, as data confidentiality is crucial for this role.
– Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Desirable Criteria:
– Experience working in a time-critical environment.
– Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
– Proficiency in Excel, with an inclination toward developing your own systems and recommending procurement software.
