Options resourcing have teamed up with a façade company based in Portsmouth. Due to their rapid expansion and project accepted in recent weeks, they’re seeking an Estimator to join the team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in the company’s growth while enhancing your knowledge and experience in the industry.
About the Role – Job Title: Estimator – Location: Head Office, Waterlooville (occasional UK-wide travel required) – Hours: 08:00 to 17:30, Monday – Friday – Salary: Commensurate with Experience (DOE) – Reporting to: Pre-con Director – Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare tenders, estimates, and cost plans within client timeframes.
2. Interpret architect drawings and specifications.
3. Create cost sheets, including quantity take-offs and project BOQ completion.
4. Submit final project estimates with supporting documentation.
5. Develop relationships with suppliers to assist with cost requirements.
6. Identify value engineering opportunities to maintain competitive quotes.
7. Manage your time effectively to meet agreed deadlines.
8. Communicate tender status to clients.
9. Present project handover meetings.
10. Maintain accurate information about suppliers, sub-contractors, and clients.
11. Collaborate with the design team to identify flaws and improvements, providing potential solutions.
12. Regularly communicate with company quantity surveyors to ensure project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
To be considered for this role, you will require:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
Excellent numerical and literacy skills.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
The ability to work to deadlines and consistently deliver high-quality work.
