Job Title: Project Engineer
Reporting to: Contracts Manager / Project Manager
Staff Responsibility: Site based Supervisors / Operatives (project specific)
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Summary of Position
To ensure effective management and delivery in your associated discipline within a project from inception through to handover. This is to include design, procurement, installation through to commissioning and to practical completion. A highly visible project role where delivering the company’s objectives and vision in relation to service, profitability and the development of client relationships are paramount.

Key Responsibilities:
Communication required within the different areas and Departments:
o You will be the lead member of the team in your associated discipline, with a requirement to coordinate with your Contracts or Project Manager the programme so that the design, procurement and installation meets the project programme requirements o Communicate effectively with our chosen design consultant, advising of tender assumptions and best practise, steering the design to maximise profitability
Manage and Control Labour Team:
o Taking the resource (labour plant and materials) requirements from the contract programme, forward plan resource for a minimum of 8 weeks, liaising with ourSupply Chain and/or Contracts Manager to ensure the appropriate resource to meet the programme demands
Assist in Planning and Programming:
o Assist the management team on the planning and programme of the project in hand in an efficient and timely manner, understanding the resources required to complete and the affects of this on any tender allowances and profitability.
Attend Site / Client Meetings:
o Attend and effectively contribute at meetings in relation to the project when required, identifying early any risks to the project, with solutions to negate any impacts as works progress

Able to Design, Calculate and Produce Drawings:
o Working alongside CAD and Design team to design, calculate and produce detailed drawings for the project and communicate back to the site team, where required.
Ensure Effective Control of Vehicles on Project:
o Ensure costs are kept to a minimum for the project and health and safety rules are adhered to
Build and Maintain Client Relationships:
o Assist in building reputation of company as well as assisting in winning future work
Tender Projects When Required (Liaising with Estimating Dept):
o Assist the Estimating Dept with the tender of potential and future works to secure future business for the organization.
Final Account Agreement:
o Assist in the liaison with client to close an account
Profitable Project:
o Assist management to ensure the project runs to a profit by keeping costs down throughout
Timesheet Authorisation:
o Ensure site operatives complete timesheets for your authorisation and they are sent to payroll for specified time.
Health & Safety Standards:
o Ensure health and safety rules and legislation are adhered to on each site and any site specific training relating to H&S is undertaken in a timely manner
Adhoc:
o Undertake any responsible duties requested that relate to the role being undertaken
Essential Desirable
Recognised Mechanical or Electrical Chartered or incorporated engineer
Engineering Degree or NVQ/SVQ Level 4 review by a professional institute
CSCS / ECS card such as mechanical or electrical
IOSH Managing Safely / SMSTS institute of engineers.
BTEC HNC Engineering (appropriate course content)
